Since 1992, Sky Sports have really been the main place to watch you're favourite team play, but as time went on our once beautiful game was being slowly taken away from us. Why? Because Sky Sports think it's always better to not be at the game, instead pay twice as more to watch it at home on your TV.

In the 80's you could watch for example Southamtpon V Leeds United for as high as £8, but now it's as high as £60 to go and watch a game like that. Why? Because TV rights need to be paid off, the media (such as Sky themselves) pressure you into spending big so you're into transfer dept so eventually you feel the need raise the game tickets to pay off those debts.

The two networks where you can watch Premier League in todays football world is on either Sky Sports, or BT Sport. Every week Sky would show 3-4 Premier League game, where as BT would normally show just the 1 every lunchtime which in reality really isn't that bad, 1 game. But when those fixtures come out every June, you would like to make a note of every Saturday you'll be available to go and watch your team play, but of course you can't because Sky enjoy moving the dates and times of 3-4 games every week just to satisfy them and of course, their bank accounts. The FA or Premier League itself really don't have much of a say in theses situations, Sky pay off those 3-4 games pre hand and hope for the viewing figures to be up and obviously have loads of customers day by day, hour by hour paying the crazy amount just watch a few games of football, yes FOOTBALL, not Sky Sports 3 and 4 where you can watch highlights of Golf and Cricket! Anyway Sky moving the dates and times can affect people who work or have to go out somewhere (e.g. a wedding or a funereal) so that means the football club will lose out on ticket sales, and prehaps plung into dept because of so.

Finally, Sky and big money transfers. Every twice a year Sky Sports News have a whole day dedicated to Transfer Deadline day, a whole day of them pressuring clubs to complete deals worth millions upon millions of pounds. Sky love this, in fact it's produces great viewing figures and even makes some viewers thinking they should pay £4.99 for a Sky Sports day pass that lasts up to 24 hours, yes, Sky are managing to earn just under £5 for showing some people their Sports channels for a day... Oh dear...

Well anyway I think it would only be right for the FA and the Premier League to strip Sky Sports of showing Premier League games by the end of their current deal of showing games at the end of the 2015/16 season, and of course that's what we, the football fans would want (especially those fantastic Crystal Palace fans who protested against Sky Sports reporting at their training ground on dealine day a few days ago), should want and need for the sake of our beautiful game before it really becomes our expensive game.

Thank you,
Geoffrey Day, Proud Southampton fan
