We, the students of American University, feel that the shuttle system, which takes students from the American University campus to the Tenley Town Metro station, needs to be run more efficiently. Most importantly, the shuttle busses rarely leave on scheduled time. When this occurs, there is a buildup of students that need to use the bus - which results in overcrowding of the shuttle busses. As well, it may become dangerous when students (ie. waiting at the Tenley Metro Station at 1:00 AM on a Friday night) must wait 25+ minutes simply because of a bus running late. There is a possibility that students are at risk of being raped if alone and forced to wait for the shuttle. Furthermore, there is a high chance of a student walking back to campus alone when the shuttle does not arrive on time - another danger and risk to the University. This is not a rare occurrence and the administration should be concerned. The problem is not the shuttle schedule, just that the drivers are not following it. |
