We the parents and students of the 9th Grade Academy at Alexander High School, do not feel that it is fair for our children to be segregated from the upperclassmen and not given the same rights and privileges. We understand the need for our children to be educated, however, we do not feel that they should be controlled. We are asking the Administration of Alexander High School and the Douglas County Board of Education to abolish the bathroom pass rule. We feel that our children should be allowed to determine when they have to go to the bathrooms, and should not be limited in how many times they can do so. We also do not feel that it is necessary to obtain a doctor's notice if our children have to use the bathroom more than the Administration allows. As parents we should not be forced to pay for a doctor's note stating that it is dangerous when this information can be obtained from almost any medical website. We also do not feel that our children should be punished in detention for having to go more times than the Administration allows. |
