AEROWASP HELICOPTERS has operated from council premises at the Illawarra Regional Airport for the past 8 years. They recently had their lease come up for an Expression of Interest. Aerowasp was successful in the EOI process and gained a recommendation for a new hangar. Prior to going before council, the General Manager of council produced a report to council claiming that the proprietor of Aerowasp was dangerous (amoungst other things) and recommended that council reject their application. The report has been proven to be compiled with lies and innuendo and has been compiled to maintain a long-standing vendetta against the operator in retaliation for him making a complaint with ICAC some years back. This operator has been victimised and slandered for years by certain council officers. This petition will be forwarded to the NSW Local Government Minister seeking an investigation into these matters as soon as possible. We are requesting the decision to not offer AEROWASP Helicopters a new lease be rejected or overturned as not in the best interest of the community. AEROWASP Helicopters is the only helicopter operator offering flying training services to the area. |
