Resurface the A684 sooner rather than later!

An article appeared in the Westmorland Gazette in October 2013 calling for urgent road works to resurface part of the A684 between the top of Black Horse Hill and Junc 37 of the M6, this has still not happened!
This stretch of road (despite a 20 mile an hour speed limit being imposed) is still experiencing at least one crash a week.
Cumbria County Council have told local MP Tim Farron that the road is due to be resurfaced this coming summer....this is too long to wait!
Please sign this petition in the hope that with the backing of Mr Farron and public support we can get this road resurfaced sooner rather than later. So far no accidents on this stretch of road have led to any fatalities, let us get this sorted before one happens.

Discussion

  • Sandra Gold-Wood As the main link to Sedbergh and district from the M6 this work is urgent as there have been too many accidents already. Why wait until there is a fatality.

  • Paul Wilson Get this done before someone is killed - also find out why it was resurfaced with the wrong tar!

  • Sarah Champion It's very bad and I think I prefer road work delays to car repairs or even hospital.
