Name: Mike O'Neill on Oct 17, 2012Comments: The current arrangements for peak time services on the 699 service are unacceptable, particularly at the key stops. In order to get on a 699 and be at the University campus for 9am starts would involve needing to be at the bus stop at Greenbank for 7.30am at the latest. This is not practical (nor acceptable). I personally have two 9am starts in semester 1 and during the first four weeks of the semester for these two 9am starts have had to get the bus from Smithdown Road (usually the 86A or 86D). Ye these buses are often full with non- University students trying to get to work, school etc. Arriva have managed to pretty much monopolise the bus services for this part of Liverpool, and are quite happy to make efforts to get students to sign up for bus passes (at a high financial cost) yet are seemingly only willing to offer a basic service that is satisfying nobody at peak times.Flag

Name: Lauren Woods on Oct 17, 2012Comments: Last year I lived in Carnatic halls. The queues for peak time buses were shocking. Many times I had to miss seminars (and very nearly an exam!) due to your bus company's incompetence. Now I live off Smithdown Road and have purchased another student pass out of necessity. More often than not the 699 is packed when it drives passed me in the morning, leaving me to wait for an available 86 (which at peak times can be incredibly busy as well). For the price you are making us pay for bus passes the service is simply not acceptable and I urge you to put on more buses for the students of Liverpool.Flag

Name: Katherine McKenna on Oct 17, 2012Comments: The student bus service is incredibly poor, I've spent so much money on taxis in the first month so I get to lectures on time and that shouldn't be happening when I pay £300 for the bus. The queues are horrendous and it is stupid to be waiting for the bus from 07:55 and still be late to my lectures. Tensions in the bus queue run high especially with people anxious to get on the next one so it is only a matter of time before there is physical violence, as individuals have already had some rather heated arguments. I'm tired of standing in cramped conditions and overloading the public buses on Smithdown Road. The whole point of having a designated student bus is to stop such issues on public transport!! Another problem is throughout the day they will leave a few minutes early, The buses at Greenbank are due to leave every 10 mins and instead of leaving at quarter past they'll go at 13 minutes past. Seeing as I live literally a 2 min walk from the bus stop that means I miss the bus regularly through no fault of my own.The buses need to stick to timetable!!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 17, 2012Comments: I am extremely dissatisfied with the running of the bus times on the 699 route, I have been at the bus stop at eight o'clock and had to wait at least 45 minutes to get onto a bus, during this time only 2 buses stopped at this bus stop so they do not stop every ten minutes as advertised! I have been late to my morning lectures on many occasions and as a result this has had an impact on my education. I would also like to refer to the bus drivers who are moody, sullen and at times completely ignore any questions or comments made by the public travelling on their buses, although obviously this does not apply to all drivers.Flag
