This petition is directed to the Commissioner of Transportation, NYC to install (2) speed bumps on 68th Drive, between 136th and 138th Streets and 138th and 140th Streets in Kew Gardens Hills. This is a SAFETY issue!

A speed bump or two is needed on 68th Drive between 136th and 138th and 140th Streets due to the volume and speed of the local traffic. Many commuters us 68th Drive as a shortcut to get onto the Van Wyck Expressway at Park Drive East and 136th Street instead of taking Jewel Avenue. With an increasing number of children in the neighborhood it is just a matter of time before we have an accident.

There have already been many accidents with cars crashing into parked cars and many more at the intersection of 138th Street due mainly to speeding traffic.

This petition requests the Commissioner of Transportation takes the necessary action to slow down the traffic on 68th Drive ensuring the residents have a safe community.
