By signing this petition with my username, game, and gaming platform, I state that a) I am familiar with basic monetization practices in online social games and the general history of 5th Planet Games' monetization strategies as outlined in this document: http://tinyurl.com/dotd-things-you-should-know b) I disagree with and will not support the practice of using Premiums as purchasing lures. c) I disagree with and will not support the practice of not disclosing odds in purchases that involve a gamble. d) I disagree with and will not support that users who give substantial financial support to 5th Planet Games are given no guaranteed compensation or benefit in purchases involving gambling. e) I disagree with and will not support that for several months, and also before that, there has been no response on this issue and minimal corrective measures taken despite a wide-spread outcry by the user base. f) I disagree with and will not support that out of the corrective measures taken, all of them have been placating measures that simply provide more incentive to spend money within this flawed system, and none of them have actually corrected its flaws. I find this to be patronizing and manipulative. g) I do not lay fault on 5th Planet Games for any weakness of resolve I have exhibited regarding my spending practices in its games. h) I lay fault on 5th Planet Games for attempting to trigger and exploit those weaknesses wherever possible in order to maximize revenue, and for choosing to prioritize their design of game elements in terms of possible revenue over the quality of the game, of user experience, and of user welfare. (Examples available in a) .) j) I have no quarrel with a company making profits, and believe that a good product and a good business practice should be rewarded. However, a company with an unethical and exploitative business practice does not deserve my support. h) I believe that the monetary relationship between 5th Planet Games and its users does not need to be as exploitative as it is in order for the company to be highly profitable; furthermore, I would like to point out that many viable possibilities to this effect have been suggested by users, and have gone unheeded. i) I believe that the reform of monetization practices should involve the conversation and participation of 5th Planet Games' users in a meaningful, non-superficial, and non-placating manner. ***************************************************************************************** j) I will no longer participate in any in-game purchases where gambling is involved. I will only purchase in-game goods that are direct purchases, or, if I so choose, Expeditions that do not involve duplicate items. k) I will continue to do so until the monetization practices in 5th Planet Games' products have changed to fully correct the aforementioned problems.
