Name: Beverly Slough on Jul 31, 2008Comments: It is appalling that Florida chooses to undervalue its children by funding education to such a low level. Budgets are moral documents made with deliberate choices. Our Legislature needs to make choices that are in the best interest of our greatest asset - our children.Flag

Inadequate school systems will negatively impact our property values , crime rates and therefore the overall well-being of our community. It is time to change this!Flag

Name: Kimberli Nalven on Aug 1, 2008Comments: To have our elected officials continue to ignore the greatest asset in our country--our children, is to purposely damage the potential for success and prosperity that our country was founded on. I am proud to be one of the parents willing to stand up and hold our "by the people" elected officials to our call to do what is right. We want education in FL. to get more than the miserable per capital spending it currently gets. We expect it. We deserve it and we are not going to support anything less!Flag

Name: Chris Seres on Aug 2, 2008Comments: Florida's future and ability to compete for growth--business and family relocations-- requires an educated workforce and quality public education. Florida's children deserve internationally competitive public education. 50th in the US for per capita funding is unconscionable in a comparatively wealthy state.Flag

Name: Dany Atkinson on Aug 2, 2008Comments: Heck yeah, we need money and qualified teachers that love going to work to do a job and get paid a decent, no, I dare say MODEST salary to do so. Invest in our children, invest in our educational system. No Child left behind was nothing more than raising the standard of education without raising a single dime to make it happen!Flag

Name: Laren Maguire on Aug 3, 2008Comments: I'm a Florida public high school teacher. I'm unsure of what or whom to believe anymore. We were assured that Amendment 1 would not hurt our schools, but we are faced with an 11 million dollar budget cut this year on our county alone. What happened Those that are affected most are ultimately our kids. They deserve more. We live in a great state. Let's give our kids the gift of a great education. Our future depends on it!Flag
