The Petition

Dear Curtis \"50 cent\" Jackson:

We heard your egotistical statement \"If Kanye West sells more records than 50 cent on Sept. 11, I\'ll no longer write music. I\'ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won\'t put out anymore solo albums.\" and we the undersigned are requesting your resignation from the hip-hop game.
What could have been a great day for the listeners of hip-hop was tainted by your selfish and immature attitude. Now instead of focusing on the music the consumer once again has been subjected to one of your tantrums.

The members of the hip-hop community will allow 50 cent to resign and not fire Mr. Jackson so that he can pursue work in other areas under the name \"Curtis\". Also if 50 cent resigns we will give him a good recommendation based on the previous \"Get Rich or Die Tryin\" material. Many of the members do not have a desire to purchase the new Kanye West Cd Graduation which is the basis of this petition. We had to find another method to express to you that we wish that you would retire.

The decision for requesting your retirement was not solely based upon your ridiculous statement, it is a result of following your career over the past few years. Lackluster lyrics, recycled beats, constant beefs with everyone under the sun, your WTF performance at the BET awards and most recently your childish rant and tirade due to the leaking of your newest video collaboration with Robin Thicke that features an appearance of actor Dustin Hoffman. This is not acceptable behavior (as quoted from a source to MTV) 50 Cent “erupted” hearing the news, “ripping out a plasma TV, throwing his cell phone through a glass window and saying that he was going on vacation.” We can\'t have members of our community act this way.

We also do not like members of our community to proclaim that they do not like our other members to the mass media then turn around and break bread with them. 50 you claimed didn\'t like like Jay-Z and Diddy. \"Nah. I don\'t even like them.\" When told that his words could be misconstrued without clarification, 50 responded, \"I don\'t give a @#*$.\"

\"It doesn\'t matter,\" 50 continued. \"They\'re not the same kind of people [that I am]. In business, I respect what they do, [but] if we liked each other, we\'d call each other to talk for no reason.\" Now if you don\'t like them why where you on stage PERFORMING WITH them in NYC at the Scream tour Then after the tour you go to the 40/40 club and have drinks with Kanye Your publicity stunts need to end.

Take the time off and learn that jealousy is not healthy. There is enough money for every rapper in the game to be a millionaire 10 times over. You don\'t have to be insecure when your fans also like someone else. People can like more than one thing. Just b/c someone likes something new doesn\'t negate the fact that they also liked their previous thing. We understand that you may be feeling a little envious of Little Wayne b/c he had the number 1 spot on MTV but remember you had it before and you can\'t be number 1 forever. No-one can, and when you realize it is ok to be number 5 you\'ll be in a better place. That diss track you did Part Time Lover was in poor taste (as usual).

We could go on and address your displeasure for rappers from the South, and your other hijinks, but we feel that we have made our point perfectly clear.

Please bow out gracefully - the rap game don\'t need you. We appreciate your previous work and it will remain a classic, but be like lady because they always know when it is time to go and not a man because they always stay around way past their prime hoping to regain the fame of yesterday.
