   Please share your comments about the Lucas County Dog Warden (negative experiences, suggestions): I do private rescue at the present, as I am still waiting on my 501c3 to come back. I have had to pay over $800 in license fees just this year as the county does not issue special licenses for rescue groups. So sad as this has kept me from rescuing dogs that were put to sleep due to not having the funds to take them in. Hopefully in the positive changes, the license fees can also be addressed for those of us doing rescue out of our pockets. Thank you to all who rescue!!!

Breed spedific legislation instead of holding pet owners responsible, bragging about how many supposed "vicious" dogs he's put down. There are so many things that could be done in Lucas County if we only had someone to implement the programs. Sincerely, Karen Plocek

He is all about money and has no compassion for pit bulls or any dog for that matter. He thinks getting the pit bulls off the streets of Toledo is the solution. Well I have a solution for him but I can't say, you can imagine. GET SKELEDON OUT!! He is a killer!!!!!!!!

    Please share your comments about the Lucas County Dog Warden (negative experiences, suggestions): I believe Tom Skeldon is not a very wise choice to be the person who the public looks to for information about dogs. Every article I've ever read in the Blade where they have quoted him he makes very subject opinions about certain breeds of dogs that gives the public the wrong impression. I think the dog Warden needs to get a more educated staff to provide the public a person who can give educated information to the press.

Better yet it has always been a fantasy of mine to throw him in a small room unarmed with about 10 of the most vicious dogs and let them rip him piece to piece. We can make a video of that and send it out for public education....just like his pitbull videos. Asshole..I would spit on him if I ever saw him in public.

People are the problem; not the dogs.

    Please share your comments about the Lucas County Dog Warden (negative experiences, suggestions): I am a proud owner of a pit bull who is one of the most loyal dogs I have been around. I am a firm believer the the owner should be punished before the dog, as it is all in how they are raised. I have had my pit bull since he was 6 weeks old. He has never been allowed to be aggressive in any manner and has been trained with commands. Not once, has he ever acted out. As a matter of fact, a stray cat was lounging in our drive and he just went over and sniffed her has she laid in the sun. My pit bull is the dog that walks down the street or in a park and pays no mind to other animals around it....hardly said for other breeds of dogs. I feel it unfair to have an uneducated dog warden in office that has not a first clue about dogs, let alone a specific breed. Lets nominate someone who is educated and then maybe, just maybe they will be supported and respected. STOP KILLING INNOCENT DOGS...START PUNISHING STUPID OWNERS. Concerned Citizen, Kourtney

    Please share your comments about the Lucas County Dog Warden (negative experiences, suggestions): I have adopted dogs from the Lucas County Pound. First and foremost let me say that I have met some workers there that are beaming bright lights in these dogs lives, however, there is room for major improvements. I asked to volunteer and was told no, they did not accept volunteers. I am also sad to see that only 6 dogs were considered "adoptable" and no other dogs (which they take in over 300 a month per the warden) were even allowed to be viewed. Furthermore, sites such as petfinder.com are invaluable and I cannot see the justification for not using this tool more effectively. Out of the 6 adoptable dogs, only 2 were listed AND the listings provided NO information regarding the pups! A more pro-active approach is needed!! Many many more lives could be saved and much of the suffering could end.

I have seen no evidence that "vicious" dogs cannot be rehabillitated and can't believe the callousness(sp) that skeldon approaches these living beings

I am well aware of the personality and wrong-doings of Tom Skeldon. I feel that he is one of Toledo's worst enemies and should have absolutely no authority in the county or anywhere else. While working at TAHS, I can remember all of us employees arguing about who had to go to the dog warden to pick up their 'time-up' dogs. The entire staff there is insanely rude, especially Mr. Skeldon himself. I've never heard even a remotely good comment about the Lucas Co. Dog Warden. It's about time that a petition like this comes around...IT HAS BEEN LONG OVERDUE!!!!!!
