Name: Anonymous on Feb 26, 2007Comments: Ferry prices increased for passengers who commute daily using Wightlink from Lymington to Yarmouth with no warning. Choices of the amount of tickets that can be purchased at anyone time have been reduced therefore the fare works out more expensive. Should be a discounted rate for local commuters that rely on the ferry service and not feel penalised. Customer relations at the ticket offices when delays are occuring, could be more sympathetic with clear explanations given to the delays.Flag

Name: Anthony on Feb 26, 2007Comments: Simply scandalous, the solent used to be in the record books for the most expensive pound per mile stretch of water in the world - something to be proud of I don't think so, atleast a concession for residents of th island..........then can we discuss bus fares and the lack of competition thereFlag

Name: Colin on Feb 26, 2007Comments: I am currently looking for property on the Isle of Wight and spend a lot of time travelling to and from the island and it costs me a small fortune in fares, coupled with day to day travelling to and from the island it all adds up to quite a tidy sum and when you considder the number of people that do the same as me this must add up to a considerable amount of money. I am sure we are all aware that the Solent is by far the most expensive stretch of water at least in europe to cross and this is controlled by Red Funnel & Wight link, they should be ashamed of them selves and they should reduce these fares as soon as possible.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 26, 2007Comments: I travel to the island around once a week in summer. It seemed to me that the price of Red Jet travel had increased rapidly, so I'm glad it was not just me imagining things! These increases are a worry to me, as I run my own business and travel to the island to facilitate youth sailing initiatives.Flag

Name: Barry on Feb 26, 2007Comments: As a regular commuter to the Isle of Wight from Dublin, it is a disgrace that it costs me more to cross the Solent on the ferry than it does to fly from Dublin to Southampton. The ferry adds a disproportionate cost to the journey, and the situation should be reviewed.Flag

Name: John on Feb 26, 2007Comments: You can get a plane to another country for half the price. It makes things difficult for Island people to visit families on the mainland and for families to visit the Island. My sister had to pay around £100 to visit me on the Island for 2 days. The beverages and snacks are also higher than you would pay off the ferries.Flag

Name: James on Feb 26, 2007Comments: The price increases are way too much. I have just returned from four months in Sydney Australia. A weeks season ticket for the extensive ferry network and buses offering unlimited travel is 41 dollars, around 17 pounds, the same price as ONE return ticket on the cowes -soton high speed service. Its robbery!!!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 26, 2007Comments: As a regular traveller on the high speed service the price has increased from £165 per month to £200 per month in the space of just over 1 year. This increase is not a true reflection of the cost of inflation and we certainly do not get better serviceFlag

Name: Richard on Feb 26, 2007Comments: Endless well above inflation season ticket price rises, together with a complete lack of customer focus by Red Funnel, who treat their regular commuters like cattle, has left me very disillusioned about living on the island & working on the mainland. There is no doubt that Red Funnel know they have us in a strangle hold, and it is noticeable that they have stopped their regular announcement about "being aware that we have a choice of ferry operator across the Solent, and that they are grateful that we chose Red Funnel." We didn't, because if you live in Cowes & work in Southampton, you don't have a choice.Flag
