Defend Texas Academy of Math and Science Funding

The petition

Governor,
We write to you, to ask you to please reconsider taking away funding for the Texas Academy of Math and Science program at the University of North Texas.

Listed on this petition, are former students of the academy. Among them are some of the best doctors, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs and scientists of their generation who would not be where they are now, without TAMS.

TAMS is a unique environment which pushes gifted kids from all walks of life to live up to their potential. If you had a staffer interview these people, you would come to realize the immense impact it has made on not only them but the lives they have been fortunate enough to touch as well.

TAMS is a tree that has just started to bear very promising fruit. Don’t starve it. Nurture it. Please don't sacrifice the future.
