For any person who is a loyal San Francisco 49er fan, or familiar with the 49ers' glorious teams of the '80s and '90s, that individual is also familiar with the uniforms great players such as Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Brent Jones, Dwight Clark, Ronnie Lott and Roger Craig wore with pride. The 49er organization won five Super Bowl titles while wearing the traditional scarlet and white jerseys. The uniforms were simple, but powerful. Those uniforms are attributed with greatness and all players as well as fans respected and feared the team in red and white. Today's 49er teams wear a completely different uniform, and since the change, the 49er organization has not really been the same on the field. Whenever the 49ers wear the "throwback" jerseys, they seem to play a lot harder. Although today's 49ers were not on the Super Bowl teams, they remember what the 49ers represented in the traditional red and white uniforms and their play on the field reflects this by having only lost a couple of times in "throwback" games. We, as 49er fans, want our team to return to greatness and do so in their old uniforms on a permanent basis. Let other teams wear designer uniforms. We're the 49ers, and we're not like other teams. We're better.
