Wynne Callaway | I very much disagree with such a dense residential development - the risk and negatives far exceed any positive for our city.
Christina Helms |
Angie Maddox Sorensen | Please consider the residents of Decatur before you make such a monumental decision.

Lahna Young | NO more traffic and overcrowded schools! There are many empty homes for sale already... some sitting for nearly a year. Unlived in and unrented.
| 10 | DeeDee Hamm | This just seems like it would make downtown decatur even harder to navigate through and it would make me avoid doing business at many of the places where this traffic jam would occur. There already isn't enough parking space.
Plus the schools are already packed. I doubt the additonal tax revenue from these apartments would make up for it. Are these going to be rental properties? |

Kristie Postero | I support the above petition. I am opposed to the proposed development of the 315 W Ponce de Leon Ave property. Further, I am opposed to any proposal that requires a variance and/or change in zoning (parking or otherwise) as part of its development plan.

Daniel Hutton | I stand with the large majority of residents and wish to send a message to The City that this development is NOT in the best interest of Decatur
Robert Elzey |
Alexei and Jennifer Budsan | This is a reckless proposed use of space that our city cannot afford its residents to accept.

Mary Anna Brazeale | I especially oppose any development that does not provide for adequate parking. The current plan does not provide that.

Thomas Campbell | Decatur is choking on traffic! We do not need another high-density residential development. This development would have 220 units, *way* more than any of the other high-rise condo complexes that have sprung up in the area over the past couple of years. See http://www.decaturresidents.com/ and http://decaturmetro.com/2008/01/11/comparing-315-w-ponce-plans-to-other-decatur-condos/ for more info.
Lou Robinson | The Wachovia project does NOT seem in line with balanced, reasonable growth for Decatur. Please do not allow this project to go forward.
Katie Chapman |
Edward Jacobson | More retail and residential is welcome. Let's just do it right.
Connie Davis | The apartments ARENOT positive to the community. If the commission approves will will vote this board OUT.
J Montgomery Schuth | This developement is WRONG for Decatur. There are already way too many condos and it is destroying the character of or city. WE are turning into a condo canyon and loosing the single family home quality of our city that has been a draw. Even with the densification of the city we are no seeing any relief on our taxws due to the increase in population in the city. With several thousand more people the schools are going to be overburdened as well as the city streets with parking. We do not need any more high density+high rise developement in Decatur.

| 30 | James Wiley | Decatur has exhibited an enlightened philosophy of development for many years, but enough is enough, We have reached a point where more condos, office space, and cute little shops will begin to degrade the quality of life that we all value. It's time to take a break from knee-jerk expansion, and to cease worshiping at the altar of "density" before we are choked on it.

Susan Atkinson | Parking is already so difficult these days. At least 1-2 times per week, I try to go to CVS and end up leaving because I can't get lot or street parking.
Molly Marrah |
John R. Stowe | Development for the sake of just growing does nothing to improve the quality of life in Decatur. There is a great danger of overbuilding this city and destroying the very qualities that attract people in the first place!
