30-Day Water Challenge

This summer Girl Scout Troop 5234 took a leadership journey to learn the Wonders of Water.  We have learned to love, protect and advocate for water.  Now we ask you to join us on this journey and make a pledge for the planet—with Brownies.

I pledge to save and protect water as best I can by…
Getting to know all the wonders of water around me,
Reducing the amount of water I use when I shower, bathe, and brush my teeth,
Doing my best to not drink bottled water,
Collecting rainwater to water plants,
Asking my family to reduce their water use,
Speaking out about the precious resource of water, and
Inspiring others to make a difference.

In the girl's words...Please save water to help our community and country.  We are in a drought and we need to use less water so there is enough water for everyone.  We need water to survive.  We need water to drink, to cook and to keep clean.  If we did not have a lot of water it would be like a desert. 

Please commit to do at least one of the following for 30 days:

1.  Turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth
2.  Turn of the faucet when doing dishes
4.  Turn of the faucet when you are washing your hands
5.  Take shorter showers or baths
6.  Don't drink bottled water-use refillable bottles
7.  Don't pour out water.  Use it to water your plants.
8.  Use less water when watering the grass or plants
