Name: Marilyn & John Buckley on Jan 30, 2013Comments: Building a boatyard at 205 Magee Ave is wrong. It would not be a good place because you would not have a safe space to put all of the facilities that are needed. The docks would not be safe because of all of the commercial traffic that has to pass through the area.Flag

Name: Tom Senator on Jan 30, 2013Comments: DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN !! DO WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY AGREED TO !! I oppose the application and construction of a proposed boatyard across park land known as 205 Magee Ave. in Stamford, CT. The property was purchased by the City of Stamford for the sole purpose of establishing additional park land for the Benefit of the Citizens of Stamford and preservation and conservation of tidal wetlands.Flag

Name: John Josel on Jan 30, 2013Comments: The restrictive covenants in the deeds conveying property from Wyeth to Waterfont-Magee and the City of Stamford prohibit commercial use on Parcel B on the 205 Magee Site, including the waterfront property necessary for construction of a boatyard.Flag

Name: John Josel on Jan 30, 2013Comments: The restrictions in the deeds conveying Parcel A to Waterfront-Magee and Parcel B to the City of Stamford from Wyeth Holdings, LLC clearly prohibit commercial use on Parcel B including the waterfront property necessary for construction of a boatyard.Flag

Name: Richmond Mead on Jan 30, 2013Comments: This boatyard property swap is not a good one for one swap. It will create too much traffic for this part of Shippan. The amount of property swapped is inadequate. The cruise in from the Stamford Harbor Breakwall is way too long for boaters. Boaters now avoid using the Czeik Marina slips because of the lengthy cruise to open waters.Flag

Name: Douglas Reid on Jan 30, 2013Comments: 205 Magee Ave is entirely unsuitable for a boatyard and instead should be a park. My family needs the former site of Brewers Stamford to be restored as a full working boatyard, else we will stop investing our money and time in the Stamford economy.Flag

Name: Karen Murphy on Jan 30, 2013Comments: Reasons: (1) The City, BLT and others are proceeding illegally in connection with the approvals for this project. (2) The proposed boatyard will not be able to service large boats. (3) Serious safety issues are involved in taking boats in and out of the water. Also if serve weather conditions develop, what emergency plans are in place? (4) The proposed boatyard makes no sense economically. What will be the cost to store boats and take them in and out of the water 2-3 times a week, mostly on the week-ends during the summer?Flag

It would be a very strong blow to the community if this valuable resource is lost.Flag

Name: Patricia Rockhill on Jan 30, 2013Comments: The culture of developers is that they get what they want, no matter the cost, as long as they can make a buck. In doing so, they often trample the greater good, tempt municipal leaders to corruption, and create public cynicism. The property in question was sold by Collins on the cheap for public use. There is widespread dishonor here; we are ashamed.Flag

Name: Richard F. Anger on Jan 30, 2013Comments: No way is this location adequate to handle all the boats displaced by the closing of our boat yard. you can't stack 42' boats on racks. I had to store my boat 42' in Stratford, what an inconvenience. I have been a Stamford resident for 29 years. we don't need another office building on the old boat yard site. not one dime in tax assistance. why not fill the whole in the ground downtown?Flag

Name: Judith Slifkin on Jan 30, 2013Comments: Magee Ave was never meant to be a boatyard designed to service yachts the size of a Forbes yacht or larger yachts as was Brewers Yacht Haven . Stamford needs a major working boatyard capable of handling and storing all size privately owned boats. It has been our heritage and must remain !Flag
