The petition
We are requesting that the Illinois Attorney General halt the referendum to build a third high school in Indian Prairie School District 204 to allow an independent review based on the following concerns:
• The site currently selected was recommended and negotiated solely by the District Superintendent, Stephen Daeschner and passed by the Board creating a conflict of interest in that the Superintendent recommended a site located within one-half mile from his home.
• The site selected was rejected by the very same board less than two years ago based on the site being “somewhere between a probability and a certainty for exposure to radiation” and the “possibility of abandonment for health reasons.”
• Pending litigation related to the previous site selected, Brach Brodie, ultimately costing taxpayers millions of dollars.
• The current site is located far from the current growth and student population density.
