Only graduate & professional students at partner campuses may apply for ELISS. If you want ELISS to come to your campus, please let us know by signing this petition.

We will invite additional partner campuses from different geographic regions that demonstrate demand from graduate & professional students in multiple disciplines. The more students sign, the more likely a school will be invited to be a partner campus!

Becoming a partner campus

ELISS will issue invitations to students at campuses in multiple geographic regions with the most signatures by January 9th, 2015. To accept the invitation, we need two volunteer liaisons to secure permission and support from your campus administration and to work with former ELISS fellows to set up ELISS on your campus. Please indicate in the petition if you would consider serving as an ELISS liaison.

What is ELISS?

Societal challenges like disease pandemics or national security are messy problems that are driven by multiple social, economic, natural, and political factors. Effective interventions in the system will require collaboration and leadership across boundaries of discipline, institution, and geography. The vision of ELISS is to prepare a community of leaders for the 21stcentury with the depth, breadth, and capacity to combine ideas and action across boundaries to address societal challenges systemically. ELISS seeds this community through a selective, 15-month, extracurricular experience in which fellows lead a collaborative “think tank” that taps knowledge and experience from multiple universities and communities to understand a complex issue and options for systemic intervention.
