| 151 | Brandon Benson | This is just a joke, a marketing ploy. Whatever happened to tradition, Its probably too late for the BC people to do anything. But maybe they will see this.... | NY | |

| 158 | Nicholas Greene | Distaff, great name. | MS | US |
| 159 | Cibby | My goodness--sexism has reached the equine world! It is discriminatory to have a separate day for female horses--are they not worthy of running on the same day as the males? The use of the term "ladies" is patronizing and inappropriate. The fillies and mares are as tough and talented as the colts. After all--we need only to look to Rags to Riches and the girls who ran in Dubai! | | |
| 160 | Christopher J. Garrity | There was nothing wrong with the Breeders Cup Distaff. Bring it back. | | |
| 161 | Jen Roth | Stop trying to elevate a bunch of second-tier races like the two-year-old turf races into "championship" events. Leave the real championship races, like the Distaff, on Saturday where they belong.
(I don't really like "Filly and Mare Classic" either, but would prefer it to "Ladies Classic", which is just twee.) | IL | US |

| 165 | Dana Jones | I am disturbed by the changing to "Ladies" for more than a few reasons, not the mention the whole "Ladies Day".
For one thing, do we need further dumbing down of the language?
And could I PLEASE go somewhere and NOT hear about breast health? | MS | US |

| 168 | Steve Boyce | This is gender splitting and I see it as akin to "racism" in racing. People work and do not see or bet on Friday's card. And the name change is just stupid. | NV | US |

| 172 | Stephanie Howard | I really feel "ladies classic" is 1940ish. Filly and Mare classic is MUCH better. | IA | US |
| 173 | Donnie Jones | I think all this is a crock of -----. Why should I have to drive 70 miles one way to LAD 2 days in a row or rent a motel room just to bet on "the Ladies"? I think all the races should be run on Saturday so people that have to work on Friday can make it to the track on Sat. to "BET MONEY" on all the races not just the ones that are available at the present time. The track owners keep complaining about losing money etc., but they don't seem to care about what the patrons would like to have as far as being able to bet and keep some of their winnings. | TX | US |

| 177 | A. M. Ropp | A terrrible move on BC's part, and I hope the decision is reversed at some point. But 177 signatures are not going to impress anyone. I'm appalled by the change, but equallly appalled by the lack of support for this effort! Come on, people, help us out here! | AR | US |
| 178 | Kelly | | NY | US |
| 179 | Louise Kusspussadaitis | As usual, the racing fans who bet money on the horses, are treated like second class citizens.
Absolute nonsense! | PA | US |

| 181 | Brigitte Wilson | If not for the bettors, from those with the biggest pockets to the fan at the $2 window, what would horse racing be? The powerful white males at the top of the pecking order are once more turning a deaf ear away from racing's fans, while continuing their never-ending search for riches. | MD | US |

| 186 | Anonymous | I hate that they feel the need to mess with tradition, moving the races around and changing the name of one of the best Breeders' Cup races. Ladies Day just seems insulting and sexist and what the heck was wrong with calling the race the Distaff? If they felt the need to add Classic to the names, Distaff Classic or even Filly and Mare Classic would have been better. Even worse, they have diluted the concept of the Breeders' Cup by adding in all these new races for divisions that seem to get more and more obscure. The original 7 races were fine, even adding in the FIlly and Mare Turf was acceptable since so few females race against the males here in North America. The other new races were just not necessary, in my opinion. But then the powers that be in racing rarely care about anyone's opinion other than their own. | | CA |

| 192 | Sandra Warren | The racing establishment seems so distanced from the average person these days. Wake up! Racing needs to retire horses properly, ban whips, ban steroids, raise jockey weights, and for God's sake, don't call it the Ladies Classic and shuffle off the distaff races to a more minor day. They're mares, not ladies, and some of the most thrilling races in BC history have been the distaff races! I've been a licensed (woman) owner for 24 years, and I've never felt racing might be finished until the last year. This isn't the plantation, folks. You can't do whatever you want and expect the public to support it. | CA | US |
| 193 | Anonymous | Races should not be re-named unless you intend to name the others the Mens Classic, Turf, Juvenile, etc.
Ladies seems a bit odd for Juvenile Fillies, don't you think? Should the Juvenile contests be names "Girls" and "Boys" races? | NY | US |
| 194 | Joe Duncan | | KY | US |
| 195 | Bruce Greene | Listen to the people. Whoever proposed these changes is completely out of touch. The idea is to market the sport in progressive ways not insure that it loses it's already deteriorating fan base. | OR | US |

| 199 | Rob Whiteley | Stop perpetuating the unrelenting chauvinism in our sport, and stop your ill-conceived plan to relegate all of the fillies to Friday's undercard. Instead, alternate filly and colt races over the two days leading up to the featured Breeders' Cup Classic finale. You can rotate the races going forward, but please don't remove the Championship filly races from the prime-time spotlight or define them as secondary or less important. | | |
