Name: Leonardo Marchetti on Oct 4, 2012Comments: - A 8-storey building does NOT provide an appropriate transition into the neighbourhood where we have houses. - Privacy a huge issue due to the proximity to the townhouses at Krawchuck. - Noise from many balconies and from garbage collection is also going to be huge problems - Garbage in open space and collection will be problematic as well. - Traffic is going to increase to a point that in unacceptable.Flag

Name: Anita Gagnon on Oct 10, 2012Comments: When I saw this petition, the 2 Laird Drive address baffled me. I was aware of the redevelopment of the former Post Office site on Malcolm Road. Then I realized that the former Post Office site address had been changed. One can only surmise that the zoning on Laird is advantageous to the developer and out of line with the residential community. This act alone should raise a red flag to the zoning department at the City of Toronto. This intersection is already very congested and additional density would only stress the situation further. This rezoning will set an irreversible precedent. I ask the city to act responsibly and with community safety in mind.Flag

Name: Kathryn Mchale on Oct 10, 2012Comments: I am very familiar with the setting and context of Laird Drive, as well as Krawchuk Lane and the existing townhouse development there. The proposed new development is utterly out of keeping and context in this very attractive and residential Leaside setting. Further it has a dramatic and disproportionately negative effect upon the Krawchuk Lane townhouses and adjoining neighbours. The benefits of some increased density are modest in proportion to the unnecessary harm that would be done to the character of the community and neighbourhood should the development be approved. I urge city council to reject the proposed development and require the submission of a development proposal that meets the current Official Plan without need for variation.Flag
