Dear United States Government,
We ask for the legalization for Marijuana/ Cannabis/ Hemp in the United States.
Stop prosecuting Doctors and Researches for doing their job. Allow companies to develop marijuana medication that is regulated and controlled. We ask you to allow the millions of people in pain relief and legalize their medicine that really works, with low side affects. Using Marijuana has killed no one. "It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance" 1998-DEA Judge Francis Young
We ask that you allow the use of Marijuana for Religious and Spiritual purposes.
We ask you allow citizens over the legal age to posses, consume, or grow Marijuana according to guidelines similar to Alcohol, for personal use. We ask for treatment of drug Addiction not jail for addicts when crimes are non violent.
We ask you to allow planting and harvesting of Hemp by any citizen. We ask you allow industries to develop factories and shops to make and sell hemp products. We are the only developed country not to grow hemp.

All it takes is one stupid moment and your world can change. One stupid moment you didn't take time to hug and kiss your loved ones as rush out the door. It could be your last moment here on earth to touch them and say you love them. This moment will affect you the rest of your life.
I was thinking then if one stupid moment could affect someone life so drastically, maybe a stupid moment in the other direction could do the same. I have wanted to start a petition for a while but in a stupid moment, I didn't. So I decided before I cannot do it, I am going take a moment to write what I feel to the United States Government. I ask everyone not to let this be a stupid moment in your life.
I ask for legalization of Marijuana/Cannabis/Hemp for the United States. If you don't know the facts please check out the references at the bottom of the petition. It will be a great start to the truth on the "War On Drugs" targeting Marijuana/Cannabis/Hemp. Did you know the United States is the only developed country not growing HEMP for products! Yes, it is now legal to buy hemp products in the United States but all the products are imported.
Marijuana as medicine has helped millions of people through out history. It has been used with life threatening illnesses such as, Cancer, Aids, Hepatitis, Multiple Sclerosis, muscle spasms, headache/migraines, Glaucoma, and has aided in the shirking of tumors, just to name a few. There are no cases of death due to smoking Marijuana. In fact Marijuana shows less side effects than many remedies on the market, including aspirin. We have only begun to explore the possibilities of its medical properties. On September 6, 1988, the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chief Administrative Law Judge, Francis L. Young, ruled: "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man," and asked the Drug Enforcement Administration to reschedule it.
We have to stop putting our people in jail and prison for possession of Marijuana. “Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to a individual than the use of the drug”, President Jimmy Carter – Aug 1997. Let it be legal and governed similar to Alcohol. The war on drugs is a major force (particularly marijuana) driving the incarceration of over 2.1 million people in the United States. FBI statistic indicated that 1 marijuana smoker is arrested every 45 seconds.
