Name: Anonymous on Jun 12, 2009Comments: this is what is happening in our country. Republicans and conservatives are being discriminated against in vile ways and it is getting worse. There was no reason for a teacher with this much experience to be fired other than the fact that he was known to be a conservative.Flag

Name: Lisa Garnett on Jun 12, 2009Comments: My husband is also a 44-year-old social studies teacher with conservative views working in Virginia. Every year, there are teachers being persecuted for their views if they are not in line with the administrators. Students should be critical thinkers, not robots, and capable of independent thought, whether they agree with a teacher or not. Teaching is imparting wisdom, not forcing adopted opinions. Congratulations, Mr. Latham, on imparting wisdom in these kids who are willing to fight for you!!Flag

My high school American History teacher only talked bad about us and how aweful this country is and was. We are human and have made mistakes, but American is the greatest courtry to ever exist.Flag

Name: Allan Story on Jun 12, 2009Comments: I think this an utter disgrace and certainly gross misconduct on the schools part. It makes me sad to see what is becoming of this country when a person cannot have an opinion and not be punished for it just because it differs from someone elses. Good Luck Mr. LathamFlag
