Over the last six months the public bus service used by many Hutt Valley students has been getting progressively worse. The 130 route bus has constantly been late, too full to take us or failed to turn up at all. Consequently students are arriving late to school. In the Afternoons we fill up the bus, which makes it difficult for any members of the public to board the bus, in turn hindering the public. In the last 10 weeks alone students have waited for over half an hour for a bus that runs quarter hourly, on at least three occasions.

 Hutt Valley High School, St Bernard’s, Chilton Saint James, Sacred Heart College, Sacred Heart Primary and Hutt Intermediate School are all schools who students frequently use the 130 bus. We need a reliable bus service that can meet public demand and improve the service for the public and students alike.

 “We, the undersigned, would like to have a reliable designated ‘student only’ bus on the 130 route to allow students to get to and from school in a timely manner.”
