Comments: I wanted to sell my professional version so that I could upgrade to the latest basic version, which is no where near as expensive as the professional, but the conditions of selling it meant that no-one was interested. So, I'm stuck with a professional version that I am not going to upgrade because I can't afford. Eventually, I will have to but I am going to look to a more considerate company when I do - Not Freedom Scientific.

Comments: its down right disgusting. as a purchicer of jfw i expect to hold the right to sell it if i no longer wich to use it. FS make it difficult as the buyer is forced into buying a new vertion rather than pay less for one that no one else wants. its just profiting at the expence of peoples disabilities. i thought that FS were helping to improve accessability for people with visual impairments when in actual face their policies are designed to restrict accessability.

Comments: I believe this soft ware should be completely accessable to all vips, which currently it isn't. We are people who wish to partisapate within the world, not stand with our hands out because we need to take out a loan to be a part of it.

Comments: About time that people decided to stand up to FS. I am a student and still using a very viable copy of JFW 4.5 becasue I don't have the money to upgrade and am not likely to be upgrading any time soon. Freedom Scientific already have a closed market - why make it more restrictive than it already is

Comments: I am signing this petition for two reasons. The first as I have family member who is visually impaired and uses a computer daily. He uses it to talk to many friends and family who are located all over the world. He uses it to expand his freedom beyond his front door. I believe without the kind of software F.S produce his daily routine would be very different. My second reason is as a computer technician i support users who all have different needs. Visual impaired students users is growing at a fast rate but are limited to what they can do due to the prices of the software. Being in the education industry we can offer the right software due to higher budget we have, but that is still not right. Why should we pay as much as a home user does. We are offering a service. We could offer a better service if the we could by more but due to the pricing structure we are also limited. We are trying to stop piracy in the industry of computer software, but over priced software leads people with no other option. I don't agree with piracy but i also don't think software vendors are helping by over pricing. Of course prices must reflect the cost in producing and developing the software but don't push it. Other companies may offer software for cheaper prices and it may not be up to the same standard but why price yourself so high that people really don't want to know and will put up with other options. I hope Freedom Scientific listen to the views of users on this petition.

Comments: i started this petition not out of malice for fs but because i thought if enough of us explain to fs in this manner they may even change their policy.i know if one wants the best one has to pay a premium but must one go on paying. i have left my signeture this late as to see if it was a worth while venture to ask those others out there if they agree ,ok so it isnt world changeing but we are having our say and whether or not anything comes from it thank you one and all for your voices, not so much in the wilderness now eh.u

Comments: I think this country has got too many restrictions and regulations already, and don't see any point in paying a vast amount of money for some software that I have to upgrade ever so often. Why can't it just be free to download!! Disabled people who are struggeling to embrace themselves nowadays shouldn't be punished with high payments towards support. And neither should any other low income earner.

Comments: I wouldn't be without JAWS, because it has allowed me to use a omputer independently for years, but I totally agree with the points made in the petition. I was only able to upgrade JAWS last year because I got funding to do so, given to e because I need an up-to-date version of JAWS for future training and work, otherwise I'd still be using a very old version of JAWS and I'd have had to keep an old computer to continue using it. I didn't consider selling my old JAWS because I was unlikely to find a buyer for a six-year-old version with no authorisations left, but now I am even less likely to sell it, because doing that turns out to be expensive and complicated. I also agree with nyone who says that, once we have paid for the first version of JAWS we buy, upgrades should be free of charge. I know that FS is a commercial company, but I hope they take note of this petition: so many users of their products have relatively low incomes, and, if things don't change, these pople will always find it hard to afford to buy and upgrade such a good-quality and useful product.
