Say No to Development of 10 Emma Street

The petition

We, the undersigned, strongly object to the development application D/2007/220 for the warehouse at 10 Emma Street, Leichhardt and to its approval by the Leichhardt Council.

The density, bulk and scale of this development are out of character with its surroundings,and it clearly is a blatant example of overdevelopment of the site.

Contrary to the misleading conclusions of the "Building & Development Council Report", the impact of this development on the amenity of the residents of adjoining properties and of the entire community of Emma Street will be unacceptable.

This development application fails to comply with many of the basic development requirements of the LEP 2000 (Floor Space Ratio / Landscaped Area / Parking / Diverse Housing) and does not even comply with all of the objectives of Clause 19(5) of the LEP.

We, the undersigned, call for an immediate reconsideration of the approval of this development application and for a real consultation and mediation process involving the residents of Emma Street.
