12 FatoumataToureUGFreedom of movement, association, expression and opinion must be safeguarded in Africa inthe spirit of Ubuntu.
13 FrankMabutlaNCUSA free media in Africa is one other way of spreading democracy and free speech. As such I do support this effort, and I hope that all the medias in the continent will report unbiased and not intimidated the truth, and only the truth about Africa.

16 Sylvester Tunde AtereNGTime has come for the entrenchment of press freedom in all ramifications in Africa. All anti-press freedom laws, edicts, and bye-laws must be abolished, hencefort. Otherwise, practitioners will continuing to operate below their endowed potentials, while Africa, and indeed Africans, will be worse for it.
17 TundeAremuNGThe right of the African journalist to practice without fear of intimidation, molestation, any form of physical harm, psychological or emotional pressure from authorities is closely tied to the much desired socio-political advancement of the continent. The journalist can only assist his society when he is able to function without fear. It is only in an environment that information flow easily with journalist performing their roles without hinderance that there would be popular participation in governance and developmental projects

38 GodfreyMarawanyikaZWIn Zimbabwe particulary the media and its personell especially those in the private media have not know what free expression means, beacuse of the repressive Access to To Information and Privacy Act. At times journalist are arrested under the draconian Public Order and Security Act.
