Save Movies at Spangenberg Theatre

Save the film program at Spangenberg Theatre, Palo Alto. We the undersigned object to the closing of the film program at Spangenberg Theatre. As taxpayers in the community, we pay a lot towards the school, its buildings and maintenance of these structures. The objective of the film program is to give all profits from the films to the school at the end of the year in addition to paying rental for use of the theatre. We feel that it is in everyone's best interest to make the most use of our school's facility, especially when it is not in use during school plays and other school activities.
Focus Cinema serves both the students and the community by providing exceptional entertainment of the arts. We do not see a conflict of interest by having a part-time cinema operating in the theatre. The cinema is an enrichment to the arts and helps students and adults learn new modes of acting and directing as well as social commentary. When school productions are scheduled, no movies are shown.
The petition will be send to everybody at both school level and at the district offices.

I am an individual that have attended many screenings at the theatre in question and I have taken upon myself to raise the awareness of the closing of this program.
On the last day I collected over 200 signatures from patrons who came to the theatre.
