Stan | McGaugh | MS | US | If this bill goes through it will create a monopoly for the private weather companies. The Weather Channel has changed it's format away from wether forecasting, it is now a channel about weather, sometimes you have to wait hours trying to catch a forecast. Forecasting will suffer greatly if local radio, TV and Internet sites don't have these products.

Anonymous | Anonymous | | | This is absoultley ridiculous! NWS/NHC save hundreds if not thousands of lives each year, we should not have to pay twice for this information. Its already paid with our tax money and there for we should be able to access it at anytime without subscribing to anyone. Besides I don't think accuweather has the experience needed.
James | Paulson | | US | I want you to know who I am. I guess you have no conscious and no problem messing with peoples lives. These people need this information and cant always afford it. You would be taking away something that could help save their lives and all for money. Ridiculous

Anonymous | Anonymous | SC | US | The NWS provides valuable information to the private sector in hurricane prone areas. Turning this over to companies that are only interested in making a dollar over public safety is the wrong thing to do REMEMBER KATRINA WHAT DOD ACCUWEATHER PREDICT!!!!!! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ASK FEMA.
Bradley | Simpson | | |
Lisa | Cohen | TX | US | During hurricane season especially, the NHC/NWS provide invaluable services long before warnings go up and are government agencies we can all be proud of. AccuWeather, on the other hand, time and time again illustrates what's wrong with privatizing forecasting. If you care about keeping the populace safe and well-informed, you will NOT pass this bill.

Lance | Boley | | KY | Not just little insignificant island nations as the Cayman Islands, but the whole of the U.S. Coastal region depend upon this information. It is life-saving. It would be a travesty of the highest order to priviatize it.

Please look into WHY this bill has even been introduced, the products that will be denied free public access, and who will benefit in the long run before making a change in the current status. You might be very surprised...unless you are one who stands to gain and already know this. |
