KeithHampshireGBPossibly 1 of the finest movies of all time. Also a movie which can be watched again and again. Restore it to its former glory.
KeithShawCAI've enjoyed watching the Sand Pebbles many times over the years - as well the novel. I've only just discovered that there are missing scenes. I would love to see the movie in it's original form.

AlexanderRiviniusDEOne of the great treasures in the fox library truly deserving a restoration, also allowing for a succesful re-release in cinemas and DVD Special edition
BrianHockUSPlease restore this amazing flick!
RonComptonUSAs a former sailor and the grandson of a sailor who served during thetime of the "sand pebbles" I would hope this important work of art is preserved!

CarlFourtonUSPlease restore the missing scenes.
AnonymousAnonymousNZThis is one of a half doxzen movies that taught me (at the age of Nine)that movies can be far more than simple entertainment - they can inform and educate you on humanity. Spartacus, The Wild Bunch and Lawrence of Arabia were restored, this should be too!
ThomasWongCAArtistic works are always important to society and culture. Don't let future generations miss out on the film in is entirety. Act now before we lose the oppoprtunity and ability.

StevenUslerUSPlease consider the restoration of "The Sand Pebble" It is a wonderful motion picture ans well worth of consideration. Thank You
DanStillmanUSAnything produced today pales when compared with this movie. Try making one less trivial summer flick and invest some money in this classic. DVD sales alone should pay for it!

WilliamWillardUSI encourage the restoration of Sand Pebbles with the deleted scenes. The film is about as close to the details and spirit of the book as is possible, and the missing scenes would only enhance that. Moreover, as the film would not run in theaters, where returning those scenes deleted for the theatricial release might have made the film "too long," this would not be an issue for home viewers of a restored full-length DVD version. Indeed, it would only make a restored version more marketable to generations of new readers of the book or to millions of movie goers who enjoyed the original firm version who would want to see what they missed the first time, and be willing to pay for it! In addition, something that has not been mentioned enough is how "right" Steve McQueen was for the role of Jake Holman. As a former Marine, the actor had a feel for wearing the uniform (he understood what being "salty" meant, and how it contributed to his poetrayal of an "Old China Hand") and the handling weapons, both of which come across vivedly in every one of his scenes. With the previously deleted scenes restored, viewers will be able to see more of McQueen in what was probably his greatest role. Respectfully, William L. Willard Clearwater, FL

SamBlateUSThe Sand Pebbles is a great movie and a significant contribution to the history of the US, even with its fictions. Please restore it!
Timothy R.LouisUSThis is one of my all time Steve Mc Queen films. I hope that 20th Century Fox adds ALL deleted scenes and makes this DVD available for purchase. I will purchase one as soon as it comes available. Thanks. Tim Louis
JamesSorrellUSEach viewing of this movie reveals a certain understanding, singularly American, which in itself, should be preserved for the ages.

SalvatorePelleritiUSOne of the best movies , true to form for Steve McQ and other co-stars of the Era . It needs to be put upon its proper pedestal as one of the cornerstones in classic filmworks history . And no other way to honor this masterpiece than restoring it .

EllwoodAnnaheimUSI was 14 years old when I first saw this film. Unfortunately, it was not at the roadshow length, but in one of the subsequent "at popular prices" lengths. I have since seen the film numerous times in theaters and at home. Over the years I have owned the score on record, 8-track, and CD. I also bought the original VHS and the laserdisc versions. I decided to pass on the DVD so far since it doesn't seem to have anything that I don't already have now.

TomGreenGBThe Sand Pebbles is a great film and it had a huge influence on me when I was fourteen. I do not think thatSteve McQueen was ever given the credit he deserved for his performance.
