| 302 | Andre | Jamroz | IL | US | Previously stated "The way out of recession, then, is to increase the supply of money in the economy." The reason the supply of money in the economy is down is partially because so many US jobs are being shipped overseas and US companies are being bought by foriegn countrys. If a foreign entity buys a us company then the profits of that company are being removed from the U.S. economy. When U.S. Jobs are shipped overseas, 1. The employee no longer has any money to buy products 2. They no longer pay the taxes they used to. 3. The government is paying the unemployment with less people working. 4. The company who is shipping the jobs overseas are receiving tax breaks to do so and are now putting less money into the economy.
What companies don't realize is that the only people who buy American products are Americans. When there are no jobs left here there will be noone to buy their products.
The subprime market fallout is not entirely the fault of the Finance Companies. They were filling a need which fueled the economy and realestate market for many years. Companies like HFC hav ebeen around for over 100 years meeting the needs the bigger banks would not fill. When a person who loses their job due to "Outsourcing" can no longer afford their Morgage payments, it is not their fault. It is the fault of the Government who gives benefits to companies to outsource these jobs to foreign countries. I do not believe we should outlaw outsourcing jobs as that would be against Capitalism. But, companies should not be rewarded for it. they need to be penalized.
Companies like Knight-Vinke are largely to blame. Knight-Vinke presses companies like HSBC to completely drop it's U.S. interests and invest in China. This would put approxmately 50,000 North american workers out on the street (More money out of the economy) simply because of a downturn in the market. Mr. Knight was not complaining when HSBC bought HFC and the North American operation was providing record profits and cashflow to the company. |
| 303 | Chris | Boston | OK | US | I am all in favor of saving our jobs. The owners of these big corporations are exercising greeed, and when they take jobs away from here, they are putting people out of work! It is like slapping the United States workers in the face!!!!! |
| 304 | jennivere | gospich basile | CA | US | Nafta is hurting America/ns. It is taking jobs away from our own citizens, our standard of living and quality of life. The cost of living is going up while our wages are not if this continues, America as we know it will no longer exist. |
| 305 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | US | I grew up with a dad that would only buy american made products and I am the same way. It is so hard now to find anything that is made here so now the people that would only buy american made products have given up. All I have to say to the people out there that are buying stuff not made in the USA and are looking for a good paying american job i dont feel sorry for you it is because of them we loose good paying american jobs. |

| 313 | pamela | Wilkerson | MO | US | I also lost my job to outsourcing. I was an employee for Federal Mogul Corp., a piston manufacturing facility over 300 people lost jobs in this outsourcing project here alone. We weren't the first FM plant to close my husband and myself both were employed there. India now has these jobs. |
| 314 | Rick | Fisher | OH | US | I will not support any candidate that does not take notice of these harmful effects outsourcing and free trade have done to my country. You are driving Americans into poverty and should be ashamed of yourself, I for one would like to see your jobs outsourced, or replaced by someone carrying a H1B Visa. Maybe that person would actually work to protect American interests. While you pander to special interests groups and shamefully sell my nation to foreign governments, you do nothing to secure our border except for building a fence so you can argue over the color you'll paint it for the next 10 years. It brings me great pride to express my patriotism and send you a message bearing my utter discontent, disgust if you will, of my governments inability to represent the people who helped elect them.
