Seth | von Handorf | CA | Please show some vision and responsibility as the citizens' representatives, and give KPAS the extra time that it needs to navigate through the necessary bureaucratic processes.
Ehryn | Torrell | CA | Supporter of the arts, artist
Ian | Daye | CA | It's sad when funding to support an important cultural resource such as the Khyber building is being yanked out from under everyone's feet. Closing this arts centre will only hurt arts/culture in Halifax. A sad day indeed.

Dawn | MacNutt | CA |
Shannon | Webb-Campbell | CA |
William | Robinson | CA | The Khyber Club is an important cultural performing arts venue, that supports not only local musicians, but also provides and/or accomidates many local groups and collectives (students, artists, filmmakers, etc.) with a venue to collect and invite others in on the celebration of their talents and/or cause. THe HRM would be executing a great injustice to many many artists, musicians, organizations, and patrons if they go forth with the closing of the Khyber Club. I can not, and will not stand for this!
Catherine | Wivell | CA | The Khyber Arts Society is an vital part of Halifax's unique arts community. The Khyber Club is an integral to maintaining its vibrant atmosphere as it supports music, new media and performative events which otherwise would not take place and make Halifax very dull, indeed. Please help them to continue doing what they do best.
Eric | Patton | CA | I love the Kyhber Club - it's an institution unto itself and it would be a shame if it had to close

Susan | MacAlpine Foshay | CA |
Derek | Linzey | CA | The Kyber CLub is an integral part of the arts scene in this city. Please, this is one citizen who thinks it deeply irresponsible to shut down this venue.
Johanna | Padelt | CA | A sad state of affairs. These venues should be supported, encouraged, nutrtured, not shut down!!
Alvin | Comiter | CA |
Terri | Whetstone | CA | Although I reside outside of HRM, I work, shop, dine, and particpate in cultural activites in HRM. As an artist, through my employment as a cultural worker, and as a "consumer" of culture, I have a vested interest in supporting the Khyber Club in keeping its doors open. Halifax needs more venues for art, music, performance - not fewer. City council needs to be culturally proactive in a meaningful way - yes develop a plan - but if its all just words in a document - then its just fluff. Be community minded - seek solutions - locking the doors, breaking deals is punitive and creates bad blood. Change the tide and do the right thing. Ask KAS and KPAS to the table and working together come up with a win-win solution. Thank you.
Susan | Hunter | CA | The Khyber Club has been an essential venue for JazzEast & the Jazz Festival for presenting emerging artists and art music performed by international artists. We have no other venue in the city capable of providing this space - the size, the ambience, the support of the managment and staff, the accessibility. For people working outside the mainstream and presenting contemporary art in any discipline the Khyber Club has been a critical piece of Halifax the infrastrucutre for the performing arts. We need it.
Sue | Coueslan | CA |
Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | The Khyber Club is an important player in HRM's arts community. The draft regional plan for the next 25 years stresses the importance of arts and culture. If HRM plans to take itself seriously, it would do well to consider the role the Khyber Club could play in the years to come.

francesca | tallone | | The Khyber has been a place of great learning and art experience for decades and it saddens me to hear about all this conflict. I am hoping that the city will listen to the people who are the real heart of the Khyber.
Anonymous | Anonymous | CA |
Charlene | Boyce Young | CA | The Khyber as a music venue features artists that will NOT get picked up by commercial bars, artists that are essential to the lifeblood of the city. It is difficult to believe that this venue is threatening to any commercial interest. The lease should be extended to the non-profit incorporation date.
daniel | oore | CA | keep the khyber
Mary Ann | Daye | CA |
Heather | Gibson | CA |
chris | lloyd | CA | The actions taken by the HRM and its sneaky team of mealy-mouthed management bureaucrats make me sick to my stomach. The Khyber is a cultural institution in Halifax and one of its unique pillars; it is places like the Khyber that generate the wealth of creative talent Halifax only wishes it can sustain. What backwards, navel-gazing, money-grubbing foolishness.
Wanda | Nolan | CA |
Lisa | Uesson | |
Seth | Levinson | CA | The closure without dialogue is what gets me in the craw. This is a deplorable gesture.
Steve | Rolston | CA | Save our Khyber... had a show booked for Feb 14.
Emily | Luce | CA | The City's recent attacks on Bloomfield and the Khyber Centre are a national detriment to Canadian art. Artists across the country are watching this saga unfold. We are rooting for you, Khyber!
mike | defreitas | CA | save the khyber, please.
DEREK A.K.A. DROCK | MCELHONE | CA | Hey weve played tons of show at this place. It is well run and organized Its a shame to see it go
Clare | Levin | CA |
Joe | Fisher | CA | The khyber is one of the only clubs still really supportive of the local artists.. We need a venue like this in our city
Aaron | Ward | CA | Don't destroy the arts...
Paul | Cram | CA | WE NEED THE KHYBER TO CONTINUE!!!!
Anonymous | Anonymous | CA |
Shary | boyle | CA | The Khyber is the ONLY venue of its kind in Halifax, crucial to the community and vital to its small yet thriving art and music scene.
Walter | Osmond | CA | The Kyber isin't only a club but a part of the history of the unique and independant music scene of Halifax. Its the same as if you closed the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. Everyone important has played the Kyber not to mention the many other artistic communities it supports in this city. The Kyber is a local landmark with national recgonition and closing it's doors would be a travesty.
